Venezuela and Mexico have relations, whether they’re good depends on many factors and the peoples opinions. As for democracy in Cuba, hopefully never. Both Castro brothers had many of the same ideals, as they still do, but Raul was more open, i believe he is willing to trade with the U.S. but democracy is not a good form of government in Latin America, hell, its not even ideal for the U.S.

Venezuela and Mexico have a love -hate relationship. I doubt Raul will do anything but keep on keeping on. It would be nice if they would have some trade/ diplomatic ties with the US. Id like to dive there. Ive heard its pristine.
As for the US being a democracy. Check again. The USA is a republic. And yes there is a diff. In a Republic you have a charter that you follow (IE the US constitution) In a democracy the majority rules. Not unlike mob rule.

Answers to your question are 1 - so-so and 2 - not a chance! I will say that there is some admiration for the Chinese form of Communism/Capitalism model by Raul but there will always be a strong communist presence in Cuba as long as there is a Castro leading the country.
