It seemed to me there was some private joke there as Angela Merkel had a silly smirk on her face after Bush did that. I think it shows him for the sick freak he is. No better than Clinton.

A news commentator remarked about this: “What man these days does not know you do not give uninvited massages to a woman, much less the Chancellor of Germany?” Well, GW Bush, I guess.
The Chancellor’s smile could be interpreted several ways, none of which need include that she approved of this.
It was an act that demeaned the dignity of Chancellor Merkel and demeaned our government.

While I think it was inappropriate, I could care less. I think there are a lot of other, (more important) things that we should be worried about. Who cares if he rubbed someone’s back?
The news is a joke today. It’s all about what’s hot and sensational, not what’s important. The news keeps their trap shut on important stories that are less exciting.
News used to be about keeping people informed, but now it’s about entertaining them.
I detest Bush, but c’mon, is this news? What a joke. Unfortunately, the joke’s on us.

I didn’t think it was a smirk. I thought she was clenching her teeth because she threw up in her mouth.
He was horny and hoping to get some on the side. After all, if you were married to Laura the Librarian, wouldn’t you want some on the side since he’s probably not getting it from her?
Remember that leaders are still human. They cut up, they tell jokes, they act human. Only an extreme feminist would take offense to this if it were done in a simple staff meeting or other business gathering.
Dubya probably shouldn’t have done it knowing that everything he does is recorded just like the biscuit talk with “Yo Blair let Israel kick the **** out of Hezbollah” but that just shows his Texas (American) personality. I think that is what makes us American. We openly show feelings and emotions. Not so in Europe.
