    Desmond Tutu was nominated in 1981 and 1982. He received the award in 1984. I assume that he was considered in 1983.
    1983 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, S. Graham Sargent, depicted Jesus as a jug spilling water into the sea.

    Walesa received the prize in absentia due to ongoing struggles in Poland. Hence, you won’t see him gathering with fellow nominees in 1983.
