Jordan Christopher asked:

Well Hillary certainly did gain some degree of experience during the Bill Clinton years in the White House. She learned the art of media misdirection, the ability to double cross any bridge when she came to it, and the ability to deny the past if it is the politically expedient thing to do.

Where does her training come from, President Bill Clinton of course? Last night in his whirlwind tour of small town America in North Carolina on behalf of his wife he claimed that his Clinton years as President were the best years in “Modern American History.” I thought it was up to historians to make that determination but clearly Bill Clinton has already written the history books.

These were the best years in modern American history? If the Clinton years were the best years in modern American history then why doesn’t the public agree? In 1992 Clinton was elected with the smallest winning percentage in modern American history only 43% of the vote, tying Richard Nixon in 1968 for that dubious distinction.

By 1996 Clinton still failed to capture half of the vote winning 49%, but one half of the eligible voters were so disgusted with politicians they didn’t even vote. That means Clinton won with less than 25% of the eligible voters. Does that sound like the most successful presidency in modern history?

What happened during those Clinton years when Hillary was serving as assistant president according to her resume and campaign claims? It seems as if Bill Clinton had an epiphany and figured out how to out Republican the Republicans. Clinton became the first Democrat to be the darling of the business community as first the poverty stricken were victims of the Clinton epiphany, then the minorities, then the immigrants, and then labor unions, the core of the Democratic party.

Clinton slammed through the NAFTA Free Trade Agreement, with the help of his wife the First Lady, that led to the loss of millions of American jobs, a transfer of the production of American goods and services to foreign countries, and the failure to set in motion controls and testing that would protect Americans from poor quality, unsafe and dangerous foreign products.

Welfare and poverty programs were victims of budget cuts while immigrants, legal and otherwise, were denied benefits and legal representation. Prison populations increased rapidly from the law and order attitude of the president to the point that the death penalty was extended to cover many new crimes and actions such as the Waco FBI attack on a religious sect resulted in the deaths of 86 men, women and children.

Clinton ordered a bombing attack on Baghdad, Iraq just six months after taking office. Several times during the Clinton presidency Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the World Trade Center 9-11 bombings and worldwide terrorism network that would haunt us until this day could have been captured by the USA but each event was bungled by the administration. Is that a sign of the best presidency in modern American history?

Clinton maintained the military establishment although the Soviet Union was gone and there were no more wars. He courted the Republican business community with tax breaks, trade agreements, and other favors throughout his two terms. When it became necessary to cut government expenditures to balance the budget the Clinton White House approved eliminating $5 billion in educational spending to repair crumbling schools and rejecting a proposal to extend health insurance to 10.5 million uninsured children leaning on Congress to back his rejection.

Of course there is also the personal actions during the Clinton presidency like Jennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinski, Paula Jones and Whitewater to name a few that disgusted the public to the point of impeachment of the president. Only three times in our history have impeachment charges been brought against a president. Just twice in our history did the House vote for impeachment and send it to the Senate for trial. The two cases were Andrew Johnson in 1868 and Bill Clinton in 1999. Clinton was acquitted after the trial on a tie vote.

This was the Clinton presidency that Bill now calls the greatest of modern times and that Hillary says was her training ground for presidential experience. It also led to her election to the US Senate and to her failing to disclose $24 million in Bill’s income over a three-year period (2004-2006) not to mention their joint income of $109 million

In the eight years since he was president Bill and Hillary earned $109 million including lucrative consulting contracts and six figure speaking engagements, hardly a sign of the people’s candidate. What companies can afford to pay over $100,000 to hear him speak? It is doubtful many struggling non-profits are on his itinerary. This is what makes the Clinton presidency the best in modern history?

One can only hope the traditional Democrats will see how they have been duped, the labor unions, immigrants and minorities will see how they have been taken for granted, and the general public will see how they have been used. Can we really afford eight more years of double talk, double crossing and double dealing at the highest levels of our government? If this is the legacy of the greatest presidency of modern times then I believe the last thing we need is experienced people like Hillary who were running the country through those years.

24 has gained massive fame whether due to its fast-phased plot, its ingenious actors, or its distinct and brutal torture scenes, which have stirred a number of controversies in the past. Despite the rouse of various television watchdogs, the show continues to draw in high ratings worldwide.

Furthermore, 24’s popularity has apparently captured the interest of former United States President Bill Clinton.

24, an action-packed series created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran and produced by Imagine Television, features the 24-hour period in the life of Jack Bauer, a government agent highly trained in the field of the US Army Delta Force, LAPD SWAT, and the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), and his attempt to protect the nation against terrorist attacks. The show stars Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, D.B. Woodside, James Morrison, Peter MacNicol, Marisol Nichols and Regina King among others. 24 premiered in November 2001 and is currently on its sixth season.

Based on an article of the Hollywood Insider, Clinton’s TV pick, 24, will definitely rouse a lot of controversy taking into account that the show is more inclined to a Conservative direction, which is quite ironic since Clinton is a Liberal Democrat.

24 is apparently just one of Clinton’s favorite shows. Aside from the Emmy and Golden Globe-award winning action-packed series, he also takes delight in watching Grey’s Anatomy, also an award-winning program. The show features the chaos and all the drama in the medical world through the eyes of Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo. The Show also stars Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Isaiah Washington, Katherine Heigl, T.R. Knight and Chandra Wilson among others. And last but not the least, the former President also enjoys watching Boston Legal, again, an award-winning comedy-drama broadcast on ABC. It stars James Spader, Julie Bowen, Mark Valley and Rene Auberjonois.

Imperato Calls it Again: Giuliani Says Clinton Made ‘mistake’ With ‘93 World Trade Center Attack

Rudy Giuliani charged yesterday, that former President, Bill Clinton, made a “big mistake” when he failed to see the first World Trade Center attack as an act of terror rather than a mere crime - one that set the stage for even bigger and bolder attacks culminating with 9/11.

“The United States government, then President Clinton, did not respond,” Giuliani said, ticking off terrorist attacks that followed, including the bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa and the USS Cole in 2000.” [Osama] bin Laden declared war on us. We didn’t hear it.”

Bill Clinton’s only response to the bombings of the U.S. embassies in Africa was to launch several rockets to Afghanistan. Ironically, this was done the day after his Grand Jury testimony was released regarding the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Clinton launched no military attack against al-Qaeda and allowed the group to grow under his watch. According to Imperato, Clinton was “sleeping at the wheel.”

In a previous i1connect article, “i1connect news: Imperato on Hillary, Obama, and Giuliani”, Imperato stated the following:

“While Giuliani was mayor, and Bill Clinton was President, they swept the first WTC attack under the carpet, and nothing was done to protect our country from allowing more terrorists into New York City to study the World Trade Center Towers, and eventually kill over 3,000 innocent Americans,” stated Imperato.

Since 2005, Imperato has pointed out that the 9/11 attackers came in under the watch of Bill Clinton and Rudolph Giuliani.

When asked about Giuliani’s current criticism about Bill Clinton, Imperato responded, “Giuliani criticizing Clinton is like the pot calling the kettle black. The fact is, Giuliani let the terrorists come into New York City; he allowed the terrorists to study the structural details of the World Trade Center Towers, and he allowed the attacks to happen.”

Imperato then went on to challenge Giuliani on his views on 9/11.

He stated, “If Giuliani wants to talk tough about 9/11, then I would like to see him do so against me in a public debate. The fact is that the media has been too soft on him, and has not asked him the right questions pertaining to his involvement or lack thereof in helping to secure New York City pre 9/11.”

Imperato has previously called for a debate with Giuliani. To date, the Imperato camp has not received any response.

The past week has been difficult for Giuliani, as his South Carolina campaign chairman was indicted on drug charges. He was questioned about Newsday’s story that he was forced out of the Iraq Study Group and reports revived about his employing a priest who was suspended on charges of sexually abusing students.

In terms of poll numbers, Giuliani has been underperforming, and is no longer the clear frontrunner he once was. In addition, since the announcement of Michael Bloomberg’s departure from the Republican Party, more and more Americans are now open to electing an independent to the White House.

America’s leading independent candidate for the White House in 2008, Daniel Imperato, on the other hand has been seeing support grow with key campaign visits in New Hampshire, Alabama, Massachusetts, Texas, and New York.

Giuliani’s attacks on Bill Clinton were largely seen as an attack on fellow Presidential Candidate, Hillary Clinton, who has been leading most polls amongst Democratic candidates.

Previously, Clinton has come under fire from many critics, including Imperato, for not being able to manage her household.

“If she couldn’t manage her home, then how is she supposed to manage our country? The fact is that Bill didn’t like what they served at home, so he went out to eat,” stated Imperato in a 2005 release.

Although not covered by the mainstream media, these types of concerns could resurface and raise questions among American voters about Hillary Clinton’s ability to lead our nation.

Obama to Houston

obama
Ernie Fitzpatrick asked:

Obama is coming to the Houston Toyota Center this Tuesday. But, he has to finish the work in Wisconsin first. Obama plans on celebrating the Wisconsin primary victory from down town Houston. Hillary didn’t step foot into Wisconsin until Saturday and then she cut her three day plans there to just two. Obama seemed to pick up his pace with her visit to the state which he’s been in all week.

While Hillary was delivering a relatively mild speech with largely indirect attacks aimed at Obama, Barack Obama’s remarks minutes later could easily be labeled far more critical. Sen. Obama, following Sen. Clinton to the podium Saturday night at the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s Founders Day Gala, even strayed off his prepared comments to dish out attacks he’s recently included on the stump.

Who says this guy can’t extemporaneously let ‘er fly? The Obama tsunami is still on a roll.

Obama introduced a new line, as well, hitting Sen. Clinton for “just recently” supporting legislation aimed at keeping jobs in the United States that he said he’s advocated for years. Obama said the Patriot Employer Act “will reward companies that create good jobs right here in America.” He also accused Clinton, as he has in the past, of participating in the “politics of the moment” by taking certain positions simply because it’s campaign season.

“I didn’t just start criticizing unfair trade deals like NAFTA and China because I started running for President,” Obama said, referring to the North American Free Trade Agreement, a treaty signed into law by former President Bill Clinton. Obama often points out that Hillary Clinton praised NAFTA during her husband’s administration.

After the Wisconsin and Hawaii primaries get out of the way this Tuesday, the focus becomes up close and personal. Texas just could save the Democrats from a convention problem- if they give the vote to Obama. Hillary has been in Texas (particulary South Texs where the Latino vote is big), but Obama comes to Houston next week and you cna rest assured all we’ll hear about for two weeks, leading up to the March 4th Texas primary, is Obama this and Hillary that.

Don’t you just love this stuff!

Hillary Clinton Wants to Go Dancing With the Stars

Groshan Fabiola asked:

More famous people are joining the bandwagon of hopefuls for Dancing with the Stars, with the latest being Hillary Clinton herself. Yes, the wife of former president Bill Clinton is dreaming of a spot on ABC’s award-winning reality dance competition. In fact Clinton, who is now a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2008 presidential election was a guest on The Tyra Banks Show just last Friday, where she revealed to the world on which reality show she would like to participate in.

“In my dreams, I would be on America ’s Next Top Model, but in reality I would have to chose my limited talents and of them, dancing is better than singing,” Hillary Clinton told Tyra Banks. “You do not want me to sing.”

Clinton also admitted that she has decided on Dancing with the Stars, if to choose among reality shows to join.

“I think it would have to be Dancing with the Stars, especially if I could have one of those really good partners.”

Clinton did not say which kinds of dances she enjoys performing, but admitted that she is well updated on the younger generation’s hip moves. The 60-year-old also revealed that she knows the Soulja Boy and SpongeBob dances.

“I think that is a variation of what I did like 30, 40 years ago,” she explained. “Everything gets recycled and gets a different name and [changes] slightly, the hip action or shoulder action, whatever it is.”

Aside from discussing light topics such as the possibility of her participating in Dancing with the Stars, the Democratic presidential candidate also talked about an emotional moment she had with voters on the eve of the New Hampshire primary. Some analysts believe that this event help propelled her to an unexpected win. Clinton also talked about her recent comments about Martin Luther King Jr. that helped push the issue of race to the forefront of the campaign against the black Barack Obama, for the Democratic nomination.

Lastly, Clinton also suggested a nationwide contest “like a reality show” for a title for her husband, former President Clinton, should she win the nomination and later be elected the nation’s first female president.
